The Portage la Prairie School Division held their final meeting on Tuesday evening as a group before election night. The meeting covered a diverse range of topics, including:

  • Halloween next Monday
  • Take Your Child To Work Day on November 2nd
  • September enrolment being at 2512 (+128 from last year)
  • Brake For Breakfast
  • November being proclaimed as Financial Literacy Month within the Province
  • Municipal Elections on Wednesday

Rod Brownlee and Debbie Citulsky said goodbye to the board on Tuesday.

Citulsky describes her departure from the board, which she has been a part of for four years, as bittersweet.

"I learned a lot, but my life is getting complicated now, and we want to do more travelling, so I'm sure the people coming on will do a wonderful job, and the goals have always been about our kids."

Citulsky says her advice for new board members is simple, cooperate with everyone and remember that the board is about the kids.

The next meeting, which will be the first with the new board, is set for November 8th.
