Snow clearing machine cracks the ice on Crescent Lake  

Those looking to skate on Portage la Prairie's Crescent Lake will be out of luck for the foreseeable future.

According to the Skating on the Crescent group that clears the ice, one of their machines caused a crack in a portion of the ice.

“Looks like we’re going to have to keep all machines off the ice this week and re-evaluate next week after some really cold weather. We apologize that the rink and path will not be cleared this week. Barricades will be up on the path, so please stay away from the area, your feet would get wet,” notes their Facebook post.
