Enforcing a full smoking ban may serve to be a challenge for the Beautiful Plains school division. While the province confirms the ban is merely a consideration, superintendent Ray Derksen already foresees problems as a result.  He believes a ban would drive the students into private property where he won't be able to monitor them.  Derksen stresses he is in favor of kids not smoking but private landowners have expressed their concern regarding debris before.  The division tries to discourage smoking, only allowing it in designated areas.  Derksen admits it's a difficult issue to address.
