Sixty minutes. Fifty shots. One goal. That's all it took.

The Portage Terriers were victorious at Stride Place with a 1-0 win over the Selkirk Steelers.

When the game was tied at zero, it did not look good for the home team.

Almost halfway into the third period, Braden Billaney would go to the box for High Sticking, and 24 seconds later, Reilly Funk would get caught for tripping. This would mean the Terriers would be down two men against one of the league's best power play units, for about a minute-and-a-half.

Nathan Moore survives 5-on-3 advantage."I just knew, no matter what, I just had to battle through it," says Terriers' goaltender Nathan Moore. "They had a guy in front at all times, so I just had to look through the screens. They were getting pretty tired by the end. It made it a lot easier because my defensive help was amazing. They blocked a bunch of shots, so it was a group effort."

After killing off that penalty, it appeared that neither team would score and for the second straight Saturday, the Terriers would end regulation without seeing a goal.

Jay Buchholz made sure that didn't happen. He got an opportunity, and put the puck up high on Steelers' goalie Zachary Bennett. The puck hit the post, and trickled over the line.

"It was just a good breakout by the guys, and I got the puck, shot it, and luckily it went in."

The Terriers will celebrate this win, and then turn their attention to Sunday night when they head to Winnipeg to battle the Blues.
