After a well-documented two-year delay, Dauphin's Country Fest is gearing up for its return.

Ticket Sales opened to the public yesterday morning, and as Assistant General Manager for Country Fest, Kamryn Winters explains, they're thrilled to be getting ready to host again.

"We're really excited. We're excited to get back into live music and, you know, host everybody at the Festival Hill site this year. So that's July 1st-3rd, 2022."

Winters says that the festival has already sold half the available tickets, noting now is the time to grab your tickets, as they predict a sellout.

"At the rate that we're going, we predict to sell out, and we do not want to turn you away at the gate."

This past summer, the festival announced that next year's installment would only feature Canadian artists; Kamryn explained that decision.

"The all-Canadian lineup is, well, for one, supporting all our Canadian artists that have been affected by, obviously, the pandemic and not able to tour. Then, on the other hand, it's some more low-risk for us because, depending on the COVID restrictions, it's easier to bring Canadian artists to our festival rather than people across the border."

If you do have plans to attend or volunteer, the assistant general manager of Country Fest says you should prepare to show proof of full vaccination, as the festival will continue to follow all Manitoba Public Health Guidelines.
