The Portage Collegiate Trojans lacrosse team looks to get the season going this Sunday and head coach Al Patterson thinks they're going to have a good start.

"Looks like we're starting off well.", Patterson says "We didn't have to teach a whole bunch of introductory stuff this year because the main core is all there. We only have one new player and everybody has played before so it looks good for us that way."

Patterson says last year's team did well and got better.

"We we're above .500 which is a good place for us based on the kids that we had and the team that we had but we didn't play very well in the playoffs and ended up losing a game that we shouldn't have and got bumped out so we're looking for better things this year."

The team plays at 11am and 3pm on Sunday in Winnipeg against Vincent Massey and Sturgeon Heights.
