The U15 Portage Terriers are Stony Mountain Tournament champions. The squad went undefeated at the event, including picking up a couple of shutouts in the process. Head coach Jon Low says it was a great team effort.

"We've been dealing with a lot of illness just like every other team. It's been a tough start to our league. So, it was nice to string some wins together in this tournament in Stony Mountain."

The Terriers' season started back in September, and while they have yet to pick up a win in league play, this showing should give them the confidence they need to turn things around, according to Low.

"We've gone into a few road games with ten or eleven skaters and managed to play through that tournament with twelve skaters. We're expecting a full lineup this weekend," Low explains. "We've had some close games in the league. I'm hoping we can put some wins together and be stronger in the second half once we're all healthy."

Low describes where the team excels when they have their complete roster.

"We have six second-year players, and the rest are first-year players. Both of our goalies are in their first year of U15. It's a young squad but we're fairly quick. We move the puck well, and we just have to work hard as a team. I think they'll be competitive in the second half of the year."

The U15 Terriers will be back in action on Saturday, December 17, in Winkler.
