The annual Portage Plains United Way Golf Tournament took place today at the Portage Golf Club. Executive Director Mandy Dubois explains the golf

Mandy Duboistournament is one of their biggest fundraisers.

"The golf tournament is probably one of our biggest fundraisers, outside of our 50/50 draw. This is a big event for us, it brings a lot of people out, it makes them aware of the United Way. We have our agencies out on the holes, working, that really brings awareness to them as well so it's just a really great day."

She comments on the turnout.

"It was fantastic, we were up in golfers, we had 100 golfers this year which we were happy about. That's about 28 golfers more than last year. It just keeps growing and I think everybody had fun, just driving around on the course. Everybody seemed to enjoy the day so we were happy."

Dubois adds while they don't have final fundraising totals, they've blown their expectations.
