The PCI Saints soccer team gets a jump on their Zone 4 season tonight with an exhibition match against Oak Park.

The Saints lost in the Zone 4 championship last year -- and as a result -- have had an increase of players interested in trying out for the club. Saints' Grade 12 vet Katie McCartney feels it may take a little time to gel as a team with all the new faces.

"I feel like it's going to take time to get used to everyone because it's going to be a pretty new team, and a group of girls. So we just have to get used to how everyone is going to play, but I feel like we have a lot of potential this season."

Saints' Grade 11 Lauren Blight is excited for another year of soccer. She thinks they'll be stronger in their own end this season.

"We'll be a stronger defensive team. It's going to be tough, but we'll do good I think."

McCartney feels a win is attainable tonight, despite the lack of practice time as a team.

"Well that depends on how good their team is," she laughs. "If we work together -- and we use all our skills to full strength -- we can definitely pull out a close game, and maybe even a win."

The Saints and Oak Park go at 4:30 p.m. in Winnipeg.
