The Portage Terriers are on the road today as they travel to Neepawa for a battle against the Natives.

This will be the first meeting of the year between these two teams but last year's season series was swept by the dogs. However, Portage is coming off their fourth straight loss of the season which is unfamiliar territory for them. Forward Mack Belinski talks about what the Terriers need to do to get back to their winning ways.

"I think it starts in practice," says Belinski. "Everyone has got to come to practice, work as hard as you can and bear down on your chances, then it'll start to come in games."

Even with losing their last four matchups, the Terriers still have the highest goal differential in the MJHL with a +15, meanwhile, the Natives are at the bottom of that category with a differential of -27. The dogs also still hold the best power-play percentage (25.7%) and Neepawa is in last in that area as well (11.1%).

Defenceman Caelan McPhee says despite the loss, they did play well in some aspects of the game. He outlines what they can build off of from last game.

"Definitely the effort, I think it was a lot better today," says McPhee. "The guys seemed like they really wanted it today. That's what its got to be like the rest of the way. So, that's one of the main things we can take from it."

Puck drop for tonight's game is scheduled for 7:30 at Yellowhead Centre in Neepawa. The game can be heard live on CFRY and here at PortageOnline.com.
