The USA's Nina Roth beat Sweden's Anna Hasselborg earlier this evening in the 2017 Canad Inns Women's Classic Final. The final score was 5-4 after an extra end. Roth says she's feeling proud to have won the tournament.

"It's the first time we've won one of these tournaments in Canada," says Roth. "We're just really proud of how we played, and looking forward we're excited to play the trials."

Having just come off a semifinal game with several extra ends, she's happy with how her team handled the situation.

"To think about how we played all day, and how we just kind of kept grinding no matter what our situation (was). We were never out of it, and just pulled through in the last end."

Roth explains she's impressed with the facilities at the Portage Curling Club and adds the people of Portage have been very welcoming. She says one of the greatest parts about curling is meeting so many people from around the globe.

"That's the coolest thing about curling," says Roth. "We get to travel to all these amazing places, get to meet people from all different backgrounds and countries. It's such a friendly sport that we get to know each other, so it's nice."

With the Canad Inns' Women's Classic Champion title under her belt, Roth has her eyes set on representing her country in the Olympics and heads to the Olympic trials.
