It is back to the Legislature tomorrow for Manitoba MLAs.

The fall sitting of the third session of the 42nd Legislature will begin at 1:30 pm on Wednesday, October 6 with a condensed two-week sitting focused on completing the Budget 2021 financial process including the introduction and passage of the Budget Implementation and Tax Statutes Amendment Act (BITSA). Additionally, the government intends to pass Bill 72, the disability support act and amendments to the Manitoba Assistance Act, to better support Manitobans and their families living with disabilities, which is a key priority for the government, says Premier Kelvin Goertzen.

The legislative assembly will sit on October 6th - 8th and 12th - 14th. Two-thirds of members will attend the chamber in person, with the remainder participating virtually to ensure proper physical distancing and public health protocols are followed.

"This year's provincial budget has a number of measures to provide financial relief for Manitobans while providing significant funding to our health-care system to protect Manitobans during the pandemic," says Goertzen. "We continue to act to protect the physical and financial health of Manitobans as we deal with the challenges of COVID-19 today while looking forward to a strong economic recovery in the future."
