Travis Rintoul

A new President was introduced Wednesday night at the Carman and Community Chamber of Commerce annual meeting. Travis Rintoul is taking over for Cor Lodder. Rintoul came to town about a year ago, and is the Carman CIBC branch manager.

He is really excited to be in Carman noting it's a great community with lots of things happening. Rintoul notes he has been part of the chamber of commerce in every community he has been in, and when he moved to Carman he wanted it to be no different.

Looking ahead to 2011 Rintoul lists a number of priorities for the Chamber. Those include a further strengthening of the Chamber's partnership with the Dufferin Ag Society regarding the amalgamation of the Carman Country Fair and Potato Blossom Festival. He notes 2011 will be the second year the two organizations put on the event together. Rintoul also looks forward to building on the success of the town's first Blizzardfest, as well as the continued promotion of local businesses and ensuring those that have located in the community are happy to be there.

Meanwhile, Andrea Picton is taking over the Vice President position. The only new addition to the Carman and Community Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors is Bob Wilson. He is filling the spot left open by the early resignation of Jim Hay.
