The Portage Plains United Way is feeling the holiday spirit of giving from Southport Aerospace. They received a $6,000 cheque from 100 per cent staff contributions.

Southport CEO Peggy May says its important to give back to the United Way, as they help many organizations in the community.

"It's a big part of our community and certainly contributes to a lot of the local charities and it's a great way to get involved with many. I think it's always been a charity of choice for Southport," says May.

May says Southport's been doing small events all year to help out the United Way.

"Our total this year will be about $7,500. We're excited I think that's the most we've done yet," May says.

With the United Way being such an important charity for Southport, May says they hope to increase their donation amounts in years to follow.
