Alonsa man faces charges after allegedly breaking into Portage home

A 40-year-old man from the RM of Alonsa faces charges after allegedly breaking into a home in downtown Portage la Prairie.

Portage RCMP were called to a home in the 100 block of Duke Avenue in Portage on January 18th at around 6:32 p.m. Officers saw the front door had been damaged and found the man inside. He officially faces charges of Break and Enter, as well as Being Unlawfully in a Dwelling House.

He was released to appear in court at a later date.
