There's frustration among the Southeast Neighbourhood Committee in Portage, after a School Board decision not to install bus shelters along the Victoria School route.

Spokesperson Loreley Greenslade is upset a commitment made in July isn't being honoured.

She admits she isn't sure how to proceed, adding they've looked into fundraising to set the shelters up themselves. Greenslade says that hasn't gone well, and there's concern about whether the School Board would support the idea.

Greenslade remains hopeful the shelters will be set up, but because there's no indication that will happen, she isn't optimistic.

She believes it's important to have shelters available, with several months of winter ahead, as well as spring.
