Local snowmobile trails have been enhanced lately with the extra snow we've received, and that'll extend the past-time a little longer. Club Snow president Ken Penman updates us on the trails.

"We have two groomers now. We don't own the groomers. They belong to the Prairie Snow Patrol, but we contract with them. So now we have a groomer that can run day and night if it has to. We have a smaller one. Our trail also runs into Lakeland and up to Gladstone. And we're also developing another new trail we hope which will take effect next year. *coming out of Gladstone straight down and it'll join up then again near Treherne/Holland."

Penman reminds everyone it's nice right now, but that quickly changing.

"You look outside today and you see this. I still have my snowmobile on the trailer from yesterday. We're going out again tomorrow. It'll extend, but you look at the weather coming up, it's going to sooner or later in the next week maybe, it's going to curtail it. But you know again even though we're not on the trail, you can still go with your snowmobile out to Delta."

He adds, work with Club Snow continues all year long, not just in the winter.

"You know people say, 'Well, it's nice now. We got lots of snow. And we are going to snowmobile,' but over the summer we have to continue working. Because we have to clear land, we have to do trails. We have to do all kinds of stuff. It keeps us going."
