The annual Lavenham Snowmobile Poker Derby took place on Saturday, and $5,000 was raised. All funds will be going toward the Lavenham Community Association. Chris Woodward is the President of the Lavenham Community Association and explains it was a great turn out.

"It was the perfect day with the perfect weather," says Woodward.

Two hundred riders came out to take part and enjoyed 40 miles of trails with lots of snow. Following a great day of riding a silent auction was held. Woodward notes there were 25 prizes donated by organizations from around Lavenham.

"The huge success of the derby was overwhelming," says Woodward. "We couldn't have asked for it to go any better."

Woodward insists everyone involved worked very hard. He extends a huge thank you to all of the community volunteers.

"It definitely would not have been such a success if it wasn't for them," insists Woodward.

Woodward notes during the same time, and at the same place next year the derby will happen again. He is hopeful to see everyone out there again.
