Last week, the Amaranth RCMP responded to a report of a drunk driver.

RCMP conducted a traffic stop on Kinosota Road in Amaranth around 11 p.m. on September 3rd, after a vehicle was spotted driving erratically.

After pulling over and talking to the 59-year-old driver from the RM of Alonsa, police arrested the driver for the impaired operation of a vehicle.

The driver was taken to the Amaranth RCMP detachment to provide breath samples but failed to provide them.

He faces charges of impaired operation of a conveyance and failure or refusal to comply with a breath demand. As a result, the driver lost his licence, and the vehicle is impounded. The driver was released to appear in court at a later date.
