On an unusually warm January afternoon in Portage la Prairie, a rubber duckie could be spotted in the A&W parking lot enjoying the record-breaking day.

It is unclear at this time how the rubber duckie managed to make its way to the parking lot, as officials are investigating the matter further. However, PortageOnline can confirm that witnesses of the duck noticed it to be in good spirits and enjoying the balmy 8° day in the City of Possibilities.

Some speculate that the duck was trying to appear as a noted rival to the Canadian Goose by appearing in Portage before the geese landed. Still, at this time, all we can say for sure is that the rubber duckie was out of its natural habitat and away from the bathtub, a place where all rubber duckies should be, as Sesame Street taught us in 1970.

"Rubber duckie you're the one,
You make bath time lots of fun,
Rubber duckie I'm awfully fond of you," sang Ernie.
